Rita, Israel

Rita, Israel

Rita, who was born in Iran and immigrated to Israel with her family when she was eight, is one of Israel’s best known and most successful singers. She performs regularly at venues throughout the world, and in March appeared before the United Nations Secretary General and ambassadors to the UN in a ‘Tunes for Peace’ concert in the United Nations’ General Assembly Hall. Her latest album, My Joys, which is inspired by her Persian musical roots and the melodies of her childhood, took only three weeks to turn gold, and reached Iranian fans, both in Iran and across the globe. In 2010, Rita published her first children’s book, Shiraz’s Heart, which is based on a Persian folk tale. During her career, Rita has sold more than a million albums and won dozens of awards, including Israel’s “Best Singer and Performing Artist” title.
