Ambassador Terje Rød-Larsen is the President of the International Peace Institute and UN Under-Secretary-General and the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1559 on Lebanese sovereignty. In the past he has served as the UN Special Coordinator in the Occupied Territories and UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process. He was a key figure in the negotiations that led to the Oslo Accords, when he served as the Director of the Fafo Institute. Additionally, he served as the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General as well as serving as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Planning and Cooperation of Norway.
